    A brief history and description of our 27 cooperatives. 

    Our electric cooperatives (co-ops) have been around since the mid-1930s to bring power to parts of America where larger for-profit utilities were reluctant to operate.

    Co-ops are independent providers that are owned by the members they serve (in this case, that’s you). Transparent, accountable and service-driven, co-ops do more than provide electricity. The community’s best interests are prioritized over the bottom line.
